things don't last

My television just died. Bugger. That is what three-four ish years? Last one was a CRT cheapo portable and it lasted close on 15-20ish years. Now I'll have to get a new tv, which itself probably won't last. My grandparents had the same television all my life until they passed too, and they'd had it a fair few years before I was born too. Their old radiation blaster made it from the dawn of colour television to the dawn of the new millennium. Same with my gran's old microwave. I stopped using it three years ago when it finally gave it up, after innumerable moves and almost daily use, she bought it in 1980. Meanwhile the replacement I bought for it is something I replaced only a few months ago.

Things don't last!
